Good luck to you! I hope my input is helpful.Īudacity is exactly what I'm looking for. If you can't afford it & want something you won't have to learn, WMM is honestly your best bet. If you're serious about video editing, learn Final Cut. The aforementioned stability issues are common to most Windows video editors. If you want to use your video software for anything remotely advanced, there is no good Windows option. Their stuff is overpriced & underpowered, same stability issues as Pinnacle, and has the steepest learning curve. Pinnacle Studio is ok but WMM now has all the same features & is more stable. WMM can do everything you described as your criteria. Use Windows Movie Maker (which you have already) to get used to the concept & workflow. Video editing software for Windows? Give up now so you won't be disappointed! I understand you want something beginner-friendly. I clean all voice recordings in Audacity so my voice actors all sound like they're in the same room, even if none used professional mics. Audacity is simple, free, and has an infinite number of great plug-ins. If you don't want to build your own music, I recommend Audacity. Go with Sony if you want to create your soundtracks from scratch. (There is also a free version at .) Cubase is even greater but three times the price. Magix is ok but Sony's Acid is far superior and has a similar learning curve, with only a slightly higher price tag. So for those of you who started out not knowing much about animation and using video editing and audio recording software, which products did you find worked well for you? Some complain of crashes, others complain that the learning curve is too steep (Sony Vegas) and others say a certain software is not powerful enough. I have looked over the reviews on amazon and it just makes my head spin. Video editing software will be used to stitch together the scenes, import the audio files and experiment with effects, zooms, pans, transitions, etc. This might be something I would experiment with in the future. Magix, which was recommended, also has the capacity to create your own music with loops and a midi sequencer. I will be using the audio recording software for voice overs, sound effects and soundtracks. Has a large selection of quality effects, transitions, etc. Something that is stable and won't consistently crash my computer Under $100 for video editing software and under $75 for audio (or free, like Audacity) Obviously, a learning curve is going to be there for any new software but the easier the better. I have never used animation software before, I have never used video editing software before and it has been close to 10 years since I have used audio recording software. I am using Windows XP as my operating system. A recommendation was made for Mixcraft5 for audio software. On the previous post, Sony Vegas, Ulead Videostudio and Magix were mentioned for video editing software. I now need some input regarding video editing and audio recording software to use in conjunction with Debut. Based on the comments and being a extreme beginner, I am going with Debut. Now, it’s completely integrated.Īlso new in Anime Studio Pro 7 is a built-in content library, which allows you to access local content and content on Smith Micro’s Content Paradise site easily, including hundreds of free and paid objects.I started another thread looking for help on choosing between Anime Studio Debut and Pro. This feature was technically present in earlier versions of Anime Studio, but it required enough technical knowledge to run a Python script. This works without any hiccups, but note that Poser’s OBJ format is required for its complete scenes you can’t just import textures and models from Poser on a piecemeal basis. Once you bring the scene into Anime Studio, you can then add a bone structure to this 3D figure and animate it on the screen. This is highly useful for artists and animators, and now these scenes can be imported into Anime Studio. Unlike Anime Studio, Poser is a widely-used app in the animation business, as it lets people create three-dimensional figures and “pose” them in a 3D background. New in Anime Studio Pro 7.0 is integration with another Smith Micro product, Poser.
